HOW DID TRUMP VOTERS SCREW THEMSELVES OVER TODAY?

We had a few confirmation hearings today and one exchange between trump nominee for the Office of Management and Budget Russell Vought, and Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut which revealed that the administration does plan on screwing a major block of trump voters in an especially disloyal way. Those trump voters are veterans and the first confirmed way they will be screwed is by losing out on veterans benefits. 

In his hearing, it was made pretty clear that Vought’s previous ideas that veterans' disability benefits should be means-tested was something he still plans to do. When asked directly, Vought dodged and weaved and refused to answer. As we have seen from the other hearings, when a trump nominee tries to avoid a question which should be a very easy NO, it means the answer is obviously YES.

Of course, veterans have overwhelmingly voted Republican for years and around 65% of the veterans vote went to trump this year as well. Means testing is a convenient way to avoid paying benefits to sick or injured veterans. Apparently Republicans think some veterans make too much money to receive those benefits they earned for the suffering and damage they may have sustained while they served our country. That is a lot of trump supporters screwing themselves pretty handily by believing that the GOP and trump give a crap about the military beyond bombing other countries or shooting protesters. It is shameful that trump and his nominees, with the help of the Republicans in the Senate, will gleefully push the chief architect of Project 2025 through so he can start working on ways to screw our veterans. 

To put it bluntly yet factually, trump and the Republicans want to steal money from veterans and give it to billionaires as tax cuts, screwing millions of trump supporters in the process. It is too bad veterans did not listen to anyone on the Democrats side, or in the media that still functions, who tried to warn everyone that a vote for trump was a vote to screw veterans in a myriad of ways. One of those plans they were warned about seems to be on the agenda. What other cuts they might make as we move along remains to be seen but don't be surprised when veterans get screwed even more.
